Seasons change, and so can you!
There is something so wonderful about changing seasons. Changing seasons as we know them, such as from summer to winter, or rainy to dry. We can also take a changing of seasons metaphorically for the changing of perspectives or changing of experiences or moving towards something new.
Changing seasons can be hard, as you are longing for things to stay the same, for those feelings to stay put, and for the known to stay known. You “finally” find something and want to stick with it, but there is so much beauty in changing seasons, no matter how much you enjoy you enjoy your current season. Embracing change isn’t always easy and change in some ways is something that can be difficult for me but it is so important!
Before leaving for Costa Rica, I was so excited for being by the ocean, swimming, the sunshine, and the warm weather. I thought to myself that it was going to be the best, and even there with the change, there were some difficulties I thought Leaving Costa Rica was an emotional experience, but here I am, now writing this from Punta Arenas, Chile where there is currently snow on the ground and it is 35 degrees and a UV of 0. Something that I wouldn’t have expected would be that I was exciting for this new beginning and new change from Costa Rica, despite the cold weather.
The funny thing is, I did not expect to get to Chile and get a big surge of comfort in the snow and cold weather. I did not expect to get to my Airbnb and be enveloped in a hug from a Chilean woman that I just met. I did not expect that my small Airbnb in one of the most southern cities in Chile would give me a sense of familiarity and a feeling of a home away from home.
Change your season, even when that season is something small like changing your route to work.
Change your season, even when that season is a something big like moving to a new country.
Change your season, because you deserve to know how change feels even if you are content where you are.
Happy Reading,
Lauren
